Inside the Living Planet

On Saturday I and many other residents of Horsell ventured inside the Living Planet Centre.  That is we took a close-up look at the work done so far on the World Wildlife Fund building work on the site of Brewery Road car park.

There is still a lot of mud around but the main structure of the lower part of the building can be clearly seen and the footings are in place for the bridge.

Although the bad weather (that is rain, rain and more rain) has affected the schedule the Wilmott Dixon team carrying out the build hope to catch up later in the programme.

The new "Bedser Bridge" over the canal is still due to open in January.  I know many people will be pleased to have their direct route to the town centre and station open again.

The new bridge will arrive in pieces and be constructed on site.  A crane will then left the new bridge into place.
